Mercedes-Benz unveiled the limited-edition CLK63 AMG Black Series at the 2007 New York auto show to celebrate 40 years of its AMG division. While the coupe shared a name and some styling cues with the normal-production CLK63 AMG, it was a much more hardcore model whose design drew inspiration from the Formula One safety car. AMG fitted a 500-horsepower V8, a gorgeous widebody kit, and an adjustable suspension system, while being 100 pounds lighter than the regular CLK63. Mercedes-Benz built 700 examples of the CLK63 Black Series worldwide.
Power comes from a 6.2-liter M156 V8, rated at 500 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. Output is sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed automatic transmission.
